Day 1 & 2
Johannesburg – Northern Drakensberg. (345 Kms – 3½ hrs drive)
Today, you will be met in the arrival’s area at O.R. Tambo International airport by the Jackson’s African Safaris Managing Director, David Lynn. David will transfer you to the Northern Drakensberg by car where you will enjoy the following two nights at the Montusi Mountain Lodge, situated in a world heritage site. Included are all your meals and accommodation, any activities you choose that require paying for will be payable direct. It’s a great place to just relax and recover from a long-haul flight, but for the more active and energetic, the following pursuits are available: hiking, horse riding, fly fishing, mountain biking, tennis, birding and trail running.

Day 3
Northern Drakensberg – Isibindi Eco-Reserve and the historically momentous Anglo-Zulu Battlefields of Rorke’s Drift and Isandlwana. (200 kms – 2½ hrs drive)
After you have finished breakfast at Montusi David will drive you to Isibindi Zulu Lodge where you will spend the night. The rich cultural heritage of the Zulu nation is expressed in the magnificent beehive structure of the bedrooms of this battlefields lodge, each offering spectacular views over the 2000 hectare Isibindi Eco-Reserve, a celebration of the Zulu Nation, abounding with plains game in the heart of the historic Anglo Zulu Battlefields of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa.

Isibindi Eco-Reserve – Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park. (290 kms – 4 hrs drive)
After you have finished breakfast today and taken in any other activities you wish to take in during your stay at Isabindi’s Zulu Lodge, David will drive you to Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park, the oldest proclaimed game reserve in Southern Africa with excellent birding and home to the Big 5. Here you will spend the following two nights enjoying the game drives and spectacular scenery of this stunning location.
Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge is the only private lodge within the 96,000 hectare Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park, home of white rhino conservation. This modern eclectic lodge commands spectacular views over the rolling hills of KZN, offering an idyllic retreat with twice daily game drives, optional bush walks in Big 5 territory (not included in prize), lap pool and Esse Spa (spa treatments not included in prize).
Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park contains sub-tropical valleys and rivers to montagne grasslands with a huge diversity of flora and fauna. The park is best known for saving the white rhino from extinction through Operation Rhino which saved the few remaining white Rhino from the brink of extinction.

After you have finished breakfast today you will head out with David collecting you at an arranged time to make your way to the Kosi Forest Lodge, a quaint rustic lodge nestled in the shade of a magnificent sand forest in the heart of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park. This is a nature lover’s paradise from which the wetlands can be explored by guided canoe trips, guided forest walks and boat cruises.
Included during your 2 nights stay at Kosi Forest Lodge are all meals, teas & coffees, 4×4 return transfers from pickup point in Manguzi, guided canoeing and Raffia Forest walks and use of snorkelling equipment.

Day 8
Kosi Bay – Durban – Johannesburg (423 kms – 5 hrs drive to Durban – 1 hr flight to Johannesburg)
Today, after breakfast David will start driving towards Durban where you will have a choice where to stop for lunch. Based on your flight departure time from Durban to Johannesburg, a day plan will be made. Lunch and Dinner payable direct today.
Over night in a Johannesburg B&B in preparation for an early departure to Northern Kruger.
Day 9, 10 & 11
Johannesburg – Northern Kruger (Makuleke Concession) (625 kms – 6½ hrs drive)
Today, after an early breakfast you will be collected by Rhodes of Shangani Trails who will drive you to the Northern Kruger and be your guide and host for the next 3½ days. You will be staying at the Return Africa Pafuri Trails Camp. Each day Rhodes will discuss with you where you will walk during your walking safari experience under his professional care.

Day 12
Today, after your last breakfast in the wilderness of Northern Kruger, Rhodes will drive you back to Johannesburg (622 kms – 6½ hrs drive) for your outbound flights or to a bed & breakfast at your own expense within the Johannesburg area for your onward journey. You will have the chance to stop for some lunch as required, payable direct. Lunch can be arranged from the lodge if you wish payable direct.

Exclusions:
Montusi Mountain Lodge – With the exception of daily guided walks from the lodge, all other ‘activities’ mentioned above will incur a minimal charge to the service provider payable direct.
Isibindi Zulu Lodge excludes day trips off the reserve to surrounding tourist attractions eg Battlefields and Zulu homesteads, drinks, gratuities and items of a personal nature.
Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge excludes guided bush walks, drinks, gratuities, spa treatments and items of a personal nature.
